About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dundee City Council as a Social Care Officer in one of our care homes for the elderly. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with residents to provide support with daily living tasks, promoting independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to the personal needs of residents, including physical tasks such as personal care, assisting with food and drink, and other identified needs.
  • Assume key worker status, complete personal plans, and organize reviews to ensure residents receive tailored support.
  • Participate in social activities organized for residents and administer medication (training provided).
  • Contribute to creating a supportive and homely atmosphere, promoting maximum independence for residents.

Requirements

  • SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or ability to achieve this.
  • Experience working with older people, people with dementia, or physical disabilities.
  • Good personal care skills, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team, work on own initiative, and remain calm in a crisis.
