As the Head of Activities at Richmond Village Aston on Trent, you'll get to know our residents and deliver a varied and appropriate programme of activities that truly enrich their lives and ensure they stay connected with the village community.


What your typical day involves- Identifying suitable activities for our residents through assessment, observation and discussion, ensuring you explore the most appropriate methods and resources for meeting activity needs Managing the activities team including overseeing all planned activities, completing appraisals and dealing with any people related issues Organising outings and participating in fundraising events as required, giving consideration to safety needs and staffing requirements Managing the activities budget, maintaining financial records and sourcing required resources for activities in line with the budget Producing a weekly programme and monthly newsletter, advertising and promoting the activities programme in a manner which encourages involvement from residents, relatives and staff Maintaining excellent health and safety standards, ensuring all activities are risk assessed Ensuring written records are maintained including the range of activities available, activity evaluations and resident assessments/participation Updating the Richmond website and relevant social media channels regularly to promote activities to the local community and resident families
Who we're looking for


You have a full, clean driving licence, GSCE or equivalent in English and Maths and an NVQ in Health and Social Care with activity units.

Previous experience of managing a team is essential and current involvement in community groups would be advantageous. With a positive attitude, you have the ability to motivate residents using your energy and great sense of humour. A creative approach to ideas and an ability to communicate with residents using a person-centred approach.

Empathetic and friendly, you'll have no problem building long lasting professional relationships with colleagues, residents, their families and members of the local community.
