An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Imaging Directorate at UHNM as Deputy Professional Head.

You will be an integral member of the Imaging Senior Management team, supporting the Head of Imaging, Directorate Manager and Clinical Director in the leadership, management, and delivery of a high quality, clinically effective and cost-efficient Imaging Service.

**Main Duties**:
Support the leadership, management, and co-ordination of all Imaging Services

To ensure all relevant professional standards in the Imaging services are met.

To ensure delivery of the clinical governance and risk management agenda within the Imaging Directorate

To take responsibility for the overall training and professional development of the clinical teams (non-medical) including Radiography, Sonography, Nursing, Healthcare scientists, Clinical Technologists, Assistant Practitioners, Imaging Department Assistants.

The development of the services in line with both local and national agendas

Key Areas/Tasks

To be accountable for service delivery, liaising with other organisations, agencies, including the voluntary sector, as appropriate.

To ensure quality, performance and professional standards are met within Imaging Services and the appropriate governance arrangements are in place.

To deputise for the Head of Imaging and Directorate Manager for selected duties as required.

To provide professional leadership for Clinical Imaging staff

To support on-going evaluation of current Imaging service delivery including complex analysis of activity data, productivity, staffing, budgets, clinical skills, contracts, other providers and current literature

To support the Head of Imaging in delivery of quality, performance and professional standards which will be reported and presented at appropriate forums. Identifying and implementing actions to address any underperformance as appropriate.

To support Imaging Services in collaborative working, to develop new ways of working, to respond to changes in service provision locally, regionally, and nationally.

To support effective communication between other Directorates, GPs, Clinical Commissioning Groups, and all relevant stakeholders.

To represent the Trust on specific committees and working parties as requested.

To support the development of operational business plans

To identify and agree service delivery priorities and objectives, ensuring best use of resources.

To produce regular reports on the Imaging Services, providing appropriate information, action plans and methodology for evaluating outcomes and reflecting National and Local strategic priorities, for presentation to Directors, Professional Executive and Trust Board, as appropriate

To ensure development and maintenance of robust policies for the security, care and maintenance of all Imaging equipment, ensuring standards of infection control and safety are met.

To demonstrate well established negotiation skills in the management of conflict across a range of situations, including the resolution of complaints, which may involve diffusion of hostility and aggression
