Democratic Services Officer

We are looking for a high performing, enthusiastic person with either previous experience or the relevant transferrable skills to join our Democratic Services team undertaking committee management and scrutiny support work, as well as some electoral administration duties, as and when required

This will include:

  • Preparing and publishing agenda for decision making and scrutiny meetings;
  • Attending and producing minutes for those meetings;
  • Advising on constitutional and working practices
  • Preparing reports and undertaking research support for scrutiny bodies;


You will be highly motivated, with proven ability to work under your own initiative and to work well within a team.


The majority of meetings covered are held on weekday evenings, resulting in Time Off In Lieu when service needs allow.

This means that in some weeks the post holder will more than the standard 37 hours and in other weeks they will work less.
