Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious shopping centre in York. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service and ensuring the safety and security of our customers, employees, and property.
As a Security Officer, you will be working 36 hours per week across days, nights, and weekends, covering a variety of shifts. You will be responsible for meeting and greeting staff, visitors, and contractors in a professional and personable manner, delivering a consistently high-end customer-focused experience, and responding appropriately to varying and fast-changing priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preventing and deterring unauthorized access to the site
- Monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV
- Conducting internal and external patrols and duties
- Maintaining all logbooks and records, ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion, and conducting effective handover procedures
- Recording and reporting all faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices to management
- Managing keys and performing locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
- Ensuring any equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is managed in accordance with procedures detailed in the Assignment Instructions
- Providing support, guidance, and information to all staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring the safeguarding of the premises
- Undertaking any other duties as requested by Management
- SIA Licence (desirable but not essential as the right training can be given)
- CCTV Licence (desirable but not essential as the right training can be given)
- Right to work in the UK and have a five-year checkable history
- Access to vehicle/good transport links
- Able to get to the Site on-time for your shifts (reasonable commute)
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in the Security Industry
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Works on own initiative and as part of a team
- Computer literate
- Ability to practice our values of Integrity, Helpfulness, and Vigilance
