The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a new full time, fixed term HR Administrator to act as maternity cover in their busy HR team.

The Opportunity:

The post holder will provide efficient and expert administrative support to all users of the school HR function.

Working as part of the wider Schools Operation team, the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of transactional HR process and services, with a particular focus upon recruitment, and will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external to the School/University.

The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences provides an exciting work environment through its three subject areas that have a diverse and dynamic research and teaching portfolio. The post holder will actively support and contribute to the school's success and will be encouraged to also deliver ideas for continuous improvement opportunities as they arise.

The role shall be based within Dugald Stewart Building (Central Campus).

Please note that whilst hybrid work arrangements can be discussed at the time of offer, on campus working is required for this role.

The role is a full-time position and whilst there is flexibility on exact work pattern there is an expectation for work to occur across the standard working week (i.e. Monday - Friday).

We would be open to this post being considered as a secondment opportunity should circumstances allow.

Your skills and attributes for success

Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus typically at least 2 years' work experience in a relevant role; or School education to standard grade or equivalent plus typically 3 years' relevant work experience. Experience of working in fast paced environment, delivering high quality customer service to users, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to develop an understanding of the University's structure, processes and procedures, the business of the School, and the wider Higher Education environment as necessary. Excellent communication, time management, problem solving and organisation skills. Knowledge of University systems processes and HR policies would be advantageous.
