West Sussex Fire & Rescue Systems

Salary:
£32,020 to £34,723 per annum.

Working pattern:

West Sussex County Council are seeking a Systems Configuration Specialist to join our IT Product Team.


You will support the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service to update and develop systems that are critical to the delivery of the service.

Plans are underway for significant projects in the next 12 months that will enable the Firewatch integration with WSCCHR systems and further development of the existing Firewatch system.

The role requires system understanding, work package co-ordination and direction, stakeholder management; user acceptance testing & support


You will gain system and configuration knowledge to enable delivery of services that are critical to the day-to-day operations of West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services.

As part of this varied and demanding role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Analysis and specification of requirements, report or system configuration development, appropriate testing or providing guidance & direct support to the business
  • Developing understanding, skills, and methodologies, as well as robust processes and practices, that align with IT Services good practices.
  • Working closely with stakeholders in WSFRS and WSCC, and partnerships to design robust solutions
  • Developing close working relationships with thirdparty suppliers to develop, design, and integrate best practice into FRS systems.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of the systems development lifecycle particularly requirements gathering, design and testing.
  • Ability to assimilate and analyse information and consider the risks, issues and implications of solution needs and propose the most appropriate course of action.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, estimate, organise and prioritise own workload, coordinate a variety of tasks in a clear and logical way and meet agreed deadlines.

Qualifications and equivalent

  • Relevant Degree in specialist area, or equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating that level of applied knowledge in system configuration, data or testing.
