Position: Controls Engineer (Office and field based)

Location: Chichester

Salary: £40,000 - £70,000

Working Days: Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations as per company standards.
  • Facilitate the execution of operational and project-related electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering tasks, including management of vendors and contractors.
  • Perform engineering assessments for new installations, site enhancements, and the decommissioning or replacement of EC&I Equipment.
  • Develop EC&I systems along with the necessary documentation utilizing standard software tools.
  • Create support materials, training resources, and conduct training sessions for end users.
  • Oversee the Installation & Commissioning of EC&I Equipment.
  • Implement software engineering practices across EC&I systems, including TBox Programming (Twinsoft), Pilz Programming (PNOZ Configurator), LOWIS, and Network Device configuration (Various Software and GUIs).
  • Program, repair, and install Rod Pump Off Controllers.
  • Execute fault diagnosis and investigative techniques on EC&I systems and equipment.
  • Accountable for performing maintenance and integrity tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Willingness to travel as part of the role.
  • Familiarity with Oil & Gas Operations and working in hazardous environments.
  • Proficient in engineering documentation, including block diagrams, PFDs, SLDs, P&IDs, C&E charts, schematics, wiring diagrams, data sheets, and safety-critical elements.
  • Experience in designing and implementing industrial systems.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills for existing installations.
  • Knowledge of communication devices.
  • Experience with various SCADA platforms, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Basic understanding of programming, scripting, and SQL databases.
  • Foundational knowledge of Cybersecurity principles.
