Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for ATS Automation. This position will be responsible for verifying and posting receipts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and government regulations.
- Accounting and Compliance: Ensure proper segregation of duties and other controls are in place to secure the company against impropriety, and perform reconciliations on all general ledger accounts.
- Journal Entries and Closing: Prepare journal entries and perform other month-end closing activities, including preparing and reviewing financial reports.
- Inventory and Accruals: Assist with physical inventory counts and resulting analysis, and review and perform account accruals.
- Financial Analysis: Generate sales and gross margin, cost reports, and presentations, including trend analysis with cause and suggestions for improvement.
- Compliance and Quality: Comply with International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards and documentation for the department, and participate in ATS Business Model (ABM) and Kaizen events.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Experience: Up to three (3) years equivalent accounting experience, with a preferred two (2) years of experience in an IFRS environment.
- Skills: Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills, with software/system knowledge, e.g. Xero, Sage, or similar, Microsoft Office suite, advanced level skill in Excel, JDE and OneStream.
