Inventory Manager at Sofa Club

Sofa Club is the fastest growing sofa brand in the UK and is currently expanding its team. We are thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for the first Inventory Manager to join our dynamic team.

About Us

At Sofa Club, we go beyond just selling sofas. Our goal is to boost sales from £20 million to £50 million with a disruptive mindset that aims to revolutionize the industry.

This is your chance to be part of our journey, surrounded by exceptional individuals fostering innovation and progress.

Purpose of Role

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Inventory Manager to oversee and validate the integrity of our multi-million pound sofa inventory spread across various locations.

This new position tackles a significant challenge within our company: the lack of real-time, precise stock records. You will be tasked with maintaining and providing accurate inventory data, as well as demonstrating the determination to address any discrepancies.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will ensure that our stock records are meticulous and ready for auditing. This role will involve close collaboration with multiple departments, making you a vital player in our stock management and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for reporting precise daily stock valuations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date visibility of inventory and their values across all locations.
  • Establish new processes to track the entire stock movement from scratch.
  • Identify disparities in inventory records and deliver detailed reports on the findings.
  • Evaluate existing inventory management practices and propose enhancements for increased accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory transactions, flag and investigate any irregularities.
  • Track failed deliveries and returns, ensuring proper restocking.
  • Determine damaged stock amounts and losses, implementing strategies to reduce them.
  • Regularly inspect the 3PL warehouse in Swindon for physical stock verification.
  • Train teams on complying with audit controls to enhance stock management efficiency.
  • Prevent inventory fraud and theft.
  • Work closely with departments like Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Warehouse.

Expectations:

Experience in managing large-scale inventory and warehouse stock systems.

Thorough grasp of inventory management principles and best practices.

Proficiency in Excel and handling extensive datasets.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to engage effectively with various departments and staff levels.

Proven expertise in obtaining and managing information.

Resilience and dedication to ensuring stock accuracy and process integrity.

Background in financial auditing or close collaboration with finance teams.

Staff Perks:

  • Vitality Healthcare Insurance
  • Additional annual leave based on loyalty
  • Discounts for friends and family
  • Employee of the month awards
  • Quarterly social gatherings
  • Free on-site parking
  • A collaborative, creative, and inspiring work environment
  • Choice of hardware and access to top software
