About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Stock Controller to join our team at Cottrell Moore Ltd, a family-owned builders' merchant. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring efficient stock management.

Responsibilities:

  • Stock Control: Oversee stock control, including receipt, storage, distribution, and sales.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels to meet current needs without excess or loss.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Stock Records: Ensure stock records align with physical inventory.
  • Reporting: Run stock enquiry reports and take necessary actions.
  • Loss Prevention: Prevent stock loss by adhering to company policies and procedures, maintain a minimum requirement of 90% accuracy.
  • Problem Resolution: Respond swiftly to problems and discrepancies.
  • Inventory Adjustments: Monitor inventory levels and process adjustments.
  • Stock Reconciliation: Ensure stock records are correct and match the physical holding on site.
  • Damage Reports: Collect and compile daily damage reports.
  • Return Process: Manage the return process to minimise impact on current stock.
  • Inventory Inquiry: Respond to product and inventory inquiries.
  • Stock Control Functions: Be available for stock control functions and end-of-year inventory.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Self-starter with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team, IT literacy and practical problem-solving skills, excellent communication and methodical thinking, proficiency in basic mathematics and administrative tasks.
