The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will engage in essential daily operations aligned with vendor management inventory processes. Your responsibilities will include replenishing and distributing laboratory supplies, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE) using our advanced Inventory Management software. Collaborating closely with your team, you will support scientific processes to fulfill customer requirements.
This position is perfect for individuals looking to transition into a scientific setting and join a leading organization with opportunities for advancement, as comprehensive training will be provided. Alongside a competitive salary and structured working hours, we offer 25 days of annual leave, one day off for your birthday, plus public holidays and a company pension scheme.
Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm during training), with potential shifts post-training (6am to 2pm).
The Team
You will be part of a dedicated group of four associates, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. This team operates within our Lab and Production Services department, which supports major pharmaceutical companies and laboratories globally.
What We're Looking For
· Education: Minimum of GCSE or equivalent, A level preferred.
· Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards is essential. We seek a long-term team member with a genuine interest in science and a background in Customer Service.
· Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of SAP/E-Lims or similar systems is a plus.
·Strong communication skills in English are required.
How You Will Contribute
·Oversee goods receiving, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols.
·Manage internal Inventory Management software efficiently.
·Process stock orders for internal distribution.
·Conduct on-site parcel distribution using company vehicles.
·Address customer requests promptly and in accordance with service agreements.
·Maintain accurate written records and documentation in compliance with GMP regulations.
