Job Opportunity

Your role as Trade Marketing Account Executive will see you working within Seymour's Client Services team, supporting the Circulation & Trade Marketing Manager with the management of Story House Egmont, a leading children's publisher and one of Seymour's biggest clients.

Working on the Story House Egmont account means you will be playing your part in helping children to be entertained, informed, inspired, and discover the joy that comes with reading a magazine, the ultimate treat with benefits for curious little minds.

This role offers an excellent opportunity at the start of your career journey or alternatively you could be looking for an exciting opportunity to return to the work environment and have previous data analysis, commercial analysis or team support experience.

Key Accountabilities

Relationship builder – develop best in class customer relationships with our publishing clients and key internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration – work with your line manager and clients to create trade marketing plans that are activated at major retailers and independent outlets across the UK to grow sales efficiently and maximise the publisher's trade marketing budget.

Analytical – use our data sources to analyse the performance of the Story House Egmont portfolio vs. the children's sector. Be responsible for accurately monitoring the data, updating reports and providing written commentary to the internal team and external partners.

Curious – spot opportunities to turn these data insights into recommendations & actions.

Written communication skills – utilising available data to write compelling retail proposals to influence decisions at retail and support negotiations.

Commercial – use available data to forecast sales and review the effectiveness of trade marketing spend to ensure the best return on investment.

Presentation skills – create presentations to be used for retail and client meetings and present effectively to internal Seymour departments and Story Houe Egmont when necessary.

Accurate administration – accurately input retail activity into the magazine promotional booking system and keep your trade marketing plans up to date. Become a proficient user of company systems.

Additional Information

This is an office-based role and as such we are willing to discuss a wide range of flexible working options, although we do expect that you cover core business hours of 10am – 4pm.

As a company we embrace a hybrid working approach so working from home as part of your working week is normal as long as you are available in the office as required by the business and to ensure you are working effectively as part of a high performing team. At the moment we ask office-based roles to work a minimum of 8 days in the office over a four-week period and for one of those days to be a Wednesday.
