Job Summary

The Learning & Development team play a crucial role in developing a skilled, innovative, and ambitious workforce. Their goal is to provide opportunities for employees to enhance their skills and excel in their roles.

  • Develop and implement the DCMS Learning and Development and Careers strategy.
  • Offer access to learning Public Administration and Government fundamentals.
  • Support the development of expertise in specialized areas and encourage continuous professional growth.
  • Provide managers with tools for effective management and developing inclusive and resilient leaders.
  • Create opportunities for growth through mentoring, coaching, and buddying.

Job Description

As a key member, your responsibilities will include:

  • Management Capability: Engage with stakeholders across DCMS to identify management capability needs.
  • Promote and monitor mandatory learning activities.

You will be involved in activities such as:

  • Liaising with GSCU and other departments on L&D strategies.
  • Managing L&D resources aligning with departmental needs.
  • Evaluating the impact and quality of training programs.
  • Procuring training interventions and managing budgets.
  • Leading L&D projects to ensure timely and budgeted delivery.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should have:

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in HR/L&D/OD/Change positions.
  • Experience in managing learning programs or projects.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate learning initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Government Skills and Curriculum Unit (GSCU).
  • Experience in learning and talent development.
  • CIPD qualification is a plus.
