We are a friendly, 3-site dispensing Practice in Buckinghamshire with Surgeries in Wing, Whitchurch, and Winslow. The Practice has 7 GP Partners, together with salaried GPs and ANPs. They are supported by a full complement of Nurses, HCAs, a clinical pharmacist and provide care for 20,000 patients. We are a proactive and forward-thinking Practice dedicated to providing quality patient care.

In total we are a team of more than 100 staff and we consider it important to maintain a supportive team ethos.

We have a CQC rating of 'good' across all metrics, thanks to outstanding administrative support.


Although our primary emphasis is on patient care, we value and endorse our staff's well-being in order to promote a healthy work-life balance for everyone.


This role offers a variety of opportunities and no two days are the same you will be crossed trained across the administration and patient service advisor function.


A Patient Services Advisor is the first point of contact for patients providing appropriate care navigation, in line with established Policies and Procedures, to the desired service in a professional and courteous manner.

The post-holder serves as the first point of contact for contractors and visitors facilitating their requirements. General administrative duties as required to support the effective operation of the Practice.

Main tasks:

  • To greet, receive and navigate patients to the appropriate service
  • To deal with general telephone enquiries
  • To process appointment requests / amendments by patients, both in person and face to face
  • To complete tasks sent by GP
  • To arrange hospital transport for patients
  • To open up / lock the premises and maintain security in accordance with relevant Policies
  • To contact patients to provide information from the clinical team
  • To assist patients in accessing our services and those available in the wider community
  • To record message for staff, including doctors and nurses
  • To record requests for home visits
  • To register new patients, temporary residents, and any requiring immediate and necessary treatment
  • To update patient information as required using preset templates
  • To ensure the medical database is operational at the beginning of each day
  • To undertake statutory and mandatory training as required
  • To maintain confidentiality of information, always acting within the terms of the Data Protection Act and Caldicott guidance
  • To promote and maintain safe working practice in accordance with the Practice Health and Safety Policy
  • To carry out any task deemed to be reasonable by management
