Quality Improvement Advisor for General Practice

This rewarding position provides the opportunity to serve as a committed and meticulous Quality Improvement Advisor, collaborating with the General Practice Support team to assist GP practices in effectively preparing for Care Quality Commission (CQC) evaluations. Primary Responsibilities

General Practice Support The selected candidate will engage with practices on a referral basis and through insights gathered by the broader team. There will be opportunities to participate in initial discussions, providing advice and guidance on how to add value and positively influence change.

CQC Compliance:

  • Stay informed about CQC standards and regulations, serving as a reference point for general practice.
  • Prepare and maintain thorough documentation to assist practices in their readiness for CQC evaluations.
  • Advise on corrective measures and enhancements, collaborating with the team to adopt a comprehensive approach addressing both clinical and non-clinical improvement areas.
  • Liaise with CQC inspectors to demonstrate how this role can effectively support practices.

Training and Development:

  • Design and deliver training sessions for GP staff on various quality standards and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and education to GP staff regarding compliance and quality enhancement.

Quality Enhancement:

  • Identify areas for improvement within practices and develop strategies to address them, which may include protocols, policies, or identifying training needs.
  • Monitor the implementation of improvement plans, taking proactive steps to maintain momentum and evaluate their overall effectiveness.

Established to enable general practice to thrive, we support 77 member practices that provide healthcare for approximately 1 million patients. We assist practices in working collaboratively at various levels, holding contracts on their behalf and offering expertise in areas such as digital solutions, analytics, and communications. We strive to amplify the voices of our practices in discussions and decisions regarding healthcare delivery.

Job Responsibilities

This role is offered on a fixed-term contract basis, with a commitment of 15 hours per week. For comprehensive details, please refer to the attached job description.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of CQC standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Previous experience in a clinical role within a general practice or healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with general practice clinical systems (preferably EMIS).
  • Working knowledge of relevant diagnostic tools and searches.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with additional healthcare management tools.
