Trainee Psychologist/therapist

Undertake specialist psychological assessments, formulations and treatment of people referred to the service, working in partnership with the person, their families/carers/support networks and other services and professionals involved.

2.

To liaise with referrers, GPs and other professionals concerned with the individual in order to develop and review care plans/treatments/interventions.


  • Maintain contact with service users during episodes of inpatient care, care with other teams/ services and or when transitional care is active, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication. 4. To attend MDT meetings relating to referrals or service users in treatment where appropriate.
  • To maintain accurate, detailed and comprehensive records of all clinical work in accordance with Trust standards on record keeping. 6. To manage ones own emotional responses resulting from the challenging behaviour of distressed/emotive and or disturbed service users and their family/carers.
  • Manage complex cases, presenting high risk and requiring highly developed and advanced risk assessment, relapse management and crisis management skills. 8. To receive and attend clinical supervision on a regular basis in line with Trust policy.
  • To provide specialist advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to service users formulation and treatment plan. 10. To utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
