We are looking for a

Events Manager

Location: Milton Keynes Reporting to: Head of Events & Education

The role

We have an opportunity for an Events Manager to join the Events & Education Team at the UK's number one property portal. We are the busiest property website in the country and want to be the most effective in supporting our customers in building their success.

In this role, you will support and manage a variety of events ranging from our own in-house events and roadshows, customer-organised conferences and major trade events and hospitality events. You'll also support online events such as webinars and filming days for recorded training courses and our own qualification.

In this role, you will need to be organised, adaptable, focused and take care of the details that have a big impact. You will work cross-functionally with a variety of teams, both internal and external, to help ensure that every experience we offer our customers sets the standard in excellence and delivers "Moments of Wow".

Responsibilities

Physical events:

  • You will be responsible for our company (customer organised) events. Working with key stakeholders to ensure Rightmove is represented appropriately.
  • You will also play a key role in the successful delivery of our flagship major events and hospitality events.
  • You will work alongside a wide range of decision makers, leadership, stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Planning, logistics, communication skills will be paramount. And we love big bold ideas.
  • When working on any event, you must have an understanding of the business need, objective, opportunity, key messages, resource and budget.
  • You will work on a wide range of event planning including venue sourcing, supplier selection and hire; operational delivery on the day and ensuring all aspects of the brief are met. Also working on event deliverables such as creative briefing, artwork requests and feedback, and delegate and stand staff requirements/logistics -all while maintaining event deadlines.
  • Make sure Rightmovers who are staffing an event are provided with clear briefing and communication to make the event a success.
  • Ability to contribute creatively and strategically, as appropriate. You'll work on developing content/materials in coordination with internal stakeholders, the Trade Marketing Team and Marketing Design Team
  • Ensure that all events deliver the highest quality experience and create moments of "Wow"

Online events

  • Supporting our online events in the form of webinars, means you will need to be able to think fast, problem solve and intuitively support the broadcast host. You'll need to curate the questions asked by webinar attendees live during the webinar to ensure the right questions get asked, the event is technically running smoothly, and the audience is having a great Experience. (Training provided, don't worry)
  • Supporting our on-location filming shoots will mean looking after speaker and guest logistics, on location logistics and also working alongside production teams for reviewing footage and content.

What we're looking for

  • Clear communication, prioritisation and super sharp organizational skills as well as the ability to keep to a budget and brief are essential.
  • Ability to really understand and question - WHO the event is for - both internally and externally? WHAT is the opportunity and how can you maximise our investment in being there? WHY are we there, establish the objectives and what the key messages are? WHEN are the deadlines for all the components of the event?
  • Confident and comfortable taking on the responsibility of ensuring everything happens when it's supposed to, and everyone has what they need at the right time.
  • Demonstrable experience of ownership (we are looking for people who welcome responsibility and make things that matter happen)
  • Ability to think creatively and outside the box, bringing innovative ideas to the table that help to give our projects that Rightmove 'wow' factor
  • Comfortable and confident in discussions with people at all levels of the business: technical and non-technical, senior and operational management
  • Budget-driven and able to keep on top of the associated costs with each event.
  • Every show has to be better than the last. Question everything and constantly evolve what we do.
  • Action oriented with a desire to do bold work. You should not be afraid of mistakes you can learn from
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent organisational skills and the ability to shift focus quickly
  • Willing to 'muck-in' to ensure success of marketing team and Rightmove as a whole.
  • Working events is hard work. Heavy lifting, late night builds, overnight stays in different locations. You need to love what you do, bring it to life with passion and make all that hard work pay off with a great event.
  • This role does require you to travel, as such it would be an advantage to hold a current UK driving licence.
  • A committed team player We are a relaxed, friendly office and like to work hard when we need to, but get involved in a cheeky quiz or team activities

Ultimately, we care much more about the person you are, how you think and approach things, than a list of qualifications and buzzwords on a CV. Even if you can't say 'yes' to all of the above, but are smart, self-motivated and passionate about working with a one of the UK's biggest websites then get in touch.

About us

We are on a mission to 'help people make the right move'. We launched in 2000 with a will to make home hunting happy by showing all property in just one place. We're now the biggest home-grown web brand in the UK - our traffic levels surpassed only by Facebook, Google, YouTube, eBay and Amazon.

Despite this success, we remain a down-to-earth bunch. To join us in our mission, we look to recruit people who share the same values and beliefs as we've always had.

We encourage and support all Rightmovers to continuously develop themselves. Together we work towards the best outcome, both in terms of our technical solutions and continued business growth. We are always on the lookout for the great new people to join our team. If you are a smart and passionate initiative-taker then get in touch. You could be part of the next chapter of the Rightmove story

Did you know?

  • Rightmove was meant to be called 'Doorknob.' But it didn't quite have the same ring to it
  • We still have employee #1 working at Rightmove
