A great opportunity has opened up to work within the public sector as an Administration Officer.

The role is to carry to carry out the Registrar General's statutory and operational functions by undertaking a range of administrative tasks in support of GRO Operations.


To work in an operational team within Civil Registration Directorate (CRD) ensuring the delivery of key performance targets as set out in the CRD business plan.


You must:

  • Hold a full and valid British passport.
  • Be able to provide all ID documents such as 2 valid proofs of address and proof of NI

Pay, hours of work and benefits:

  • An hourly rate of £11.60 p/h


Working Monday
  • Friday 8am 4pm
  • A long term temporary contract and pension scheme
  • The opportunity to work within the public sector
Please note this is a temporary contract of up to 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Any successful applicants will have a counter terrorism clearance applied for them, once this has passed a start date will be discussed.


Responsibilities and duties:

  • Inputting, verifying and retrieving information from both manual and computer based systems.
  • Quality assurance of work within the teams including monitoring productivity.
  • Managing workflow, monitoring work, maintaining or deploying resource as required whilst identifying and resolving potential problems.
  • Investigating and following up queries using all information, systems or work tools available.
  • Work effectively within a fast paced multitasking team based environment to achieve team goals/targets.
  • Working flexibly and providing support to other operational colleagues / areas as required.
Resolving customer problems fairly and effectively seeking to improve the customer experience through continuous improvement.

  • To take responsibility for one's own personal attendance, performance and development.
  • To demonstrate and promote HMPO Values in all areas of work, and adhere, without question, to HMPO policies and procedures

An employee may be required to carry out other duties within the scope of the grade and within the limits of their skill, competence and training.
