We have a brilliant opportunity for an experience HR professional to join us as a Head of HR to cover a period of maternity leave.


As the Head of HR, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and implementation of the people strategy for KBS Maritime, a Joint Venture between BAE Systems and KBR delivering Hard FM and alongside services at HMNB Portsmouth.

With a headcount over 300 people with immediate growth opportunities, you will support the growth of the business and act as a champion for the culture to attract, develop and retain top talent.


This role is responsible for the optimisation of the HR function for KBS Maritime and for the deployment of the people strategy whilst also overseeing the day-to-day operations.

This includes the design and mobilisation of People related tools, systems and processes.

Working in partnership with the Leadership team, this role will implement strategies and plans to not only enhance employee engagement but to support the creation of a high-performance enterprise culture with the customer in the delivery of the FMSP contract.


You will be required to influence at senior levels, integrate and deliver people processes, projects and change not only on behalf of KBS but in partnership with the MOD to embed HR best practice and develop a High performing Enterprise Organisation.


You will be responsible for embedding HR best practice for strategic workforce planning (creation of early careers programmes), diversity and inclusion, employee relations, talent management, retention, to operational effectiveness and change management.


You will lead on the people change agenda whilst being responsible for the creation and development of a collaborative relationship with the trade unions.


You will also sponsor and ensure the delivery of complex business change projects whilst ensuring alignment with the people strategy to realise the business benefits/ objectives.


This role is a member of the KBS leadership team and requires attendance and influence at the KBS board (KBR and BAE).


Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a People/ HR Lead
  • CIPD L7 or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions and leading on all aspects of employee relations
  • Experience of leading on change programmes from systems to culture
  • Experience of leading a HR team
  • Ability to build and effectively manage relationships at all levels of the company
Desirable

  • Experience working within an SME or growing business
  • Experience working on HR systems implementation
