Our client, a leading retail business with a complex structure of franchise and in-house stores, is seeking an experienced People Director to drive long-term success.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and implementing a comprehensive people plan, aligning with the company's business strategy and objectives. This will involve taking strategic and directional responsibility for the HR team, ensuring delivery of the people plan across a workforce of circa 5,000 employees.
The post holder will be expected to derive maximum return on investment from the company's newly implemented people software and systems, capitalizing on opportunities to drive business growth and improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide top-level strategic direction and leadership of the HR team, ensuring a clear and relevant people strategy and delivery plan are in place.
- Define targets and KPIs to monitor progress against people plan objectives and oversee effective internal and external reporting of performance.
- Represent the people agenda in ongoing leadership and board discussions, ensuring visibility of people implications and opportunities in strategic business decisions.
- Champion a workplace culture that supports diversity, inclusion, and colleague wellbeing, as well as the company's responsible and sustainable business goals and values.
- Line manage and work together with the Head of HR to build a professional, high-performing, and motivated people function serving all areas of the business.
