Practice Support - Quality Assurance Lead

REPORTS TO:

HOURS:

The following are the core responsibilities of the post.

There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.


Job summary:
This role focuses on Quality and Governance at Fremington Medical centre.

This role is to lead on the QOF/IIF work of the Practice, provide operational support across the week alongside the Patient Services Manager and review and develop the quality assurance of the Practice together with managing QIP's, SEA's, Clinical Education sessions and GDPR Strategy and development.

You will also act as lead for Health Inequalities, equality and diversity.

Job responsibilities:

  • Review Quality Assurance policies and procedures around best practice guidelines
  • Devise procedures and carry out audits to monitor and report quality issues where missing.
  • Monitor all operations that affect quality.
  • Work with the Practice Manager and Patients Services Manager to ensure that complaints are dealt with effectively and efficiently and deal with the daytoday minor complaints.
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analysing quality data, and working with the team to develop creative solutions
  • To oversee the Practice's QOF and IIF work and work with the Practice Manager and QOF/IIF lead to ensure the Practice achieves its targets.
  • Review current CQC standards and performance.
  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation.
  • Communicate with CQC lead Inspector and use CQC online portal and ensure Practice Manager and Registered Manager are informed of anything as appropriate.
  • Cover all operational matters along with the Patient Services Manager to ensure there is operational support to the practice across the week.
  • To lead on The Green Impact project and implement actions as appropriate.
  • To manage and work with staff and students, where appropriate, on QIP's for the Practice.
  • Superuser and champion of Surgery Clinical IT Systems.
  • To oversee and develop with the Lead and Practice Manager, the clinical policies for the Practice.
  • To manage (with the Patient Services Manager) and carry out risk assessments for the Practice.
  • To oversee the daytoday management including the timetabling, setting up and induction of the Medical Students, F2's and Registrars and ensure all staff are aware of them within the Practice.
  • To work with the Practice Manager on the future development of the Education programme offered at the Practice.
  • To manage and oversee the Practice's data protection strategy and implementation and associated documentation e.

  • To manage the SEA meetings and monitor trends and action as appropriate.
  • Develop and oversee the practices Audit Strategy and Programme.
  • To review and measure clinical protocols and systems and work collaboratively with the team to develop solutions and best practice.
Organisational

  • Work with the Practice Manager to facilitate Quality Group meetings and prepare agendas and keep notes and action logs from the meetings.
  • Work with the Practice Manager to ensure learning from Quality Group is effectively shared and changes and improvements are embedded.
  • Manage the Practice's Risk register along with the Patient Services Manager.
  • Undertaking staff appraisals as required.
  • To work with the Patient Services Manager and Reception Lead ensuring sufficient Practice Administrative and management cover is provided, especially for periods of leave and other staff absences.
  • To oversee and organise the Clinical Education sessions for the Practice.
  • Line Manager the Administrator for QOF/IIF.
  • Report any concerns to the Practice Manager to ensure immediate action.
  • To act as a keyholder.
  • To act as lead for health inequality and diversity for the practice.

Part-time hours: 25 per week

£13.50-£15.00 per hour
