The Role


This role will be assigned to an Operating Entity within the Group which will determine the focus of their activities.

The role is responsible for the overall performance, growth and success of their business unit, implementing their Operating Entity's business strategies, working with the Head of Claims Operations and Claims leaders, in order to grow shareholder value, develop their teams and allocating budget and other resources in line with their business plans and strategic targets.


They are directly responsible for managing a team of claims specialists (both within the UK and International business hubs), who are aligned to specific product lines as well as being responsible for the financial performance of their cost centre(s).They will work with colleagues within the broking teams to deliver a positive client experience by offering an excellent claims service.


The job holder is regarded as an executive/senior member of the Claims function contributing towards operating plans within their Division.


They will ensure that operational activities within their areas of responsibility are in accordance with the relevant Operating Entity/Group Policies.


Key Responsibilities- Executes the Operating Entity strategy within their onshore and offshore teams, to drive business growth, maximise shareholder value and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks- Deliver high performance from their onshore and offshore teams.

Meet agreed budgetary/claims targets- Motivate onshore and offshore teams to deliver high performance and achieve objectives- Participates in management meetings, as required, reporting on business progress- Works with the Finance function and Head of Claims Operations and Claims leaders as appropriate to assist in the development of budgets for their area of responsibility- Works with functional experts within their Operating Entity to ensure there are effective operational systems and processes in place for both onshore and offshore teams- Acts as a conduit and liaison point to deliver and communicate Operational Entity/Group strategies- Ensure their onshore and offshore teams are resilient and built for growth to support the growth of the business- Consider what future structure and resourcing is required to support future growth- Leads the business when required, through transformational culture change- Assist the Head of Claims Operations and Claims leaders with various operational tasks, as directed- Works with the claims divisions to plan the most appropriate claims processing support solutions for the client's demands and needs- Consider technology solutions that will assist onshore and offshore teams, and the business more broadly in the future- Provides reports to senior management team which contain accurate, timely and clear information in relation to business measures- Working with the Head of Claims Operations and Claims leaders to ensure risk management infrastructure and processes are in place within their onshore and offshore teams, which build a positive risk management culture to effectively manage the business risk profile- Drives the collection of claims data, supporting the data initiatives within the Group in developing business analytics tools and solutions- Manages assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required- Responds appropriately to urgent issues as they arise- Provides leadership by acting as a positive role model and encouraging the contributions of their team and rewarding appropriate behaviours- Manages (resources, motivates, drives, develops and focuses) the team to ensure the required standards of performance are met; and that the professional and personal development of all team members increases their capability and effectiveness- Promotes individual accountability through an ongoing performance management approach that aligns personal performance goals with the functional and wider business goals- Ensures there are effective succession plans in place within their onshore and offshore teams and actively develops team members to provide future successors- Identifies and hires talent- Actively undertakes personal development to ensure up to date knowledge and understanding of best practice
