Weekend Team Manager- Hospital Team

We are currently seeking a Weekend Team Manager to join our Hospital Team

To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2025

Working within the Transfer of Care Hub, on the James Cook University Hospital site, the post holder is responsible for the management of the Hospital Social Work Team, ensuring that the team provides a high quality discharge service and supporting 7 days working.

This will involve supervising Social Workers based within the hub and providing advice and guidance to the wider transfer of care hub team.

The post holder will be representing the Council in operational meetings with South Tees NHS Foundation Trust and Redcar & Cleveland Social Care. The Manager will also be also key to supporting our work on admission avoidance.

The post holder will provide Management cover Friday to Tuesday (inclusive of weekends). There is an expectation that the two Hospital Social Work Managers (in the Transfer of Care Hub and Single Point of Access) work together closely to deliver an effective Hospital Social Work service across the 7 days, supporting people during their admission and in the early weeks of their discharge from hospital.
