Fixed Term Contract for 2 years | 37 hours per week | £41,173 to £45,442 per annum (Grade K) | Norwich


We are looking for a HR consultant to lead a small team of Advice and Casework HR Advisers supporting Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

You will also be required to manage a personal caseload of the most sensitive and complex cases and will coach Fire Service managers to deal successfully with people issues and use highly developed enquiry skills to evaluate information and identify potential solutions to complex issues.

The successful postholder will operate in a complex, fast paced environment, balancing the needs of an emergency service operating in a 24/7 environment with sector frameworks and requirements such as; HMI, National Fire Chief Council - NFCC and National Grey Book T&Cs against the background of a county council model.


You will need a solid understanding of HR processes for Green Book and Grey book (or in the case of the latter an ability to build this knowledge quickly on appointment).

A flourish for working in a fast-paced environment with capabilities to balance and support the needs of the emergency services complex requirements, within the sector frameworks.

Previous experience of team management is desirable but not essential.


This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote and office-based working but the successful applicant may need to travel to sites across Norfolk.

A physical presence in our Norwich office is required for a minimum of one day per week.
