As our new Environmental Compliance Officer, you will support our contracts by identifying and minimising environmental impacts from our Mechanical Biological Treatment facilities.

You will provide technical support in the monitoring, sampling, operation, and optimisation of our facilities biofilters.


Within this role you will provide technical support on managing the sites pest control programme and take a lead in carrying out daily on-site and off-site environmental inspections and assessments.


This role also involves you investigating any complaints which are received and the submission of environmental reports to the Environment Agency & other relevant parties.

You will also be heavily involved in the Interpretation, Reporting and Monitoring of Environmental Parameters in accordance with Site Permits and Contractual Requirements.


Your key responsibilities

  • Submission of the Quarterly Emissions Report, Annual Biofilter Monitoring Report, Fly Monitoring Trigger exceedances and the finalising of the Annual Environmental Monitoring report to the environment agency
  • Ensure Site Operations are in compliance with Environmental Permits and other associated environmental legislation
  • Creating a working relationship with regulatory officers (Environmental Agency) and managing communications with regulatory bodies with assistance from technical manager and site Manager
  • Assist technical manager with onsite sampling relating to materials, permit compliance and other relevant legislation
  • Assist sites and manage on site pest control functions

  • Ability to present data and recommendations competently and professionally at all levels
  • In depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Experience within the waste industry, but experience in other processbased industries such as manufacturing, waste water etc. would be considered
  • Knowledge of Biofilter Operations either in the same or similar industry
  • Experience dealing with Regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency
  • Knowledge of pest control practices
