MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit a Project Engineer as part of the Engineering Design department.

Role:
nThis role reports directly into the Principal Bid Engineer. The purpose of the role is to support the Business Development and Bids & Proposals teams with engineering enquiries.

The Project Engineer (Bids) will lead the associated engineering activities and liaise with the other Engineers in the Engineering Design department (and others as appropriate) to develop costed technical proposals for customers.

The Project Engineer (Bids) will aid with the Engineering Design department response to a variety of enquiries, and preparation of technical proposals for tendering purposes

nDuties will include:


Interface with the Business Development and Bids & Proposals departments, to understand the engineering requirements of prospective work.nProduction of concise and effective technical proposals in response to customer requests.nReview of customer requirements and production of necessary procurement specifications.nCo-ordination of resources to achieve the required engineering input.nCompiling the estimate of engineering effort required to execute the proposed contract.nAttendance at meetings with customers, including delivery of technical presentations and participation in engineering and commercial discussions.nDevelopment of standardised documentation packs for proposal use and trend analysis to assist in directing future company product development activities.


Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements:


BSc or BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant Apprenticeship with HNC.nExperience interfacing with multi-discipline teamsnExperience creating specification documents and liaising with suppliers.nA flair for problem solving and innovation, a flexible approach to work activities and a track record of checking engineering drawings.nKnowledge and experience in using computer packages.
