Our team has extensive experience working on public sector, residential, commercial, industrial and high hazard process construction projects. from site appraisal, through to planning, design and delivery services for all types of projects.Opportunity for a Fire Risk Management Consultant to join our thriving Fire Risk Management team in Scotland.
This is an opportunity for you to join our successful, fun, highly engaged Fire Safety team in an influential role with lots of opportunity for you to develop and progress in your career.
You will play a key part in supporting our Fire Risk Management business in Scotland working collaboratively with your multidisciplinary colleagues within and outside the Fire Division to optimise our business development and project delivery activities.
You will be home-based with daily travel to various sites across your region with infrequent visits to your nominated office, unless it is your preference to attend more frequently, occasional further travel may be required to support isolated projects, or when attending departmental meetings/conferences and continual Personnel development training, during which overnight accommodation may be required.
Experience as a consultant carrying out pre and post inspections with a minimum Level 3 Fire Qualification equivalent.A passion for fire risk management, with a focus on end-user experience and safety.
Minimum Technician level Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers with an aim to achieve Member status (MIFireE).
Membership of a recognised 3rd Party Accreditation with the Institution of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors or a similar industry related scheme or willing to commence the process of enrolling onto one.
Knowledge of relevant and current, codes of practice, building regulations, health and safety legislation, standards, and materials.Proven and previous experience in the completion of all types Fire Risk Assessments in some of the areas listed below:
» Conduct detailed audits of fire risk management protocols for clients' facilities.
» Provide strategic guidance on fire risk management for multi-site portfolios and complex buildings.
» Collaborate with clients to develop and implement pragmatic design solutions to mitigate fire risks.
» Continuously review and update fire risk management protocols to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
» Educate stakeholders on the importance of proactive fire prevention measures.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining current and agile aware of the latest industry developments and an ability to undertake independent learning.
An understanding of active and passive fire protection systemsThis includes the ability to write clear and concise reports, deliver presentations, and provide expert advice on fire safety matters.
An understanding of external wall systems including the materials, the construction, and their fire safety performance and their impact on PAS 9980 guidance would also be desirable.
Project ManagementEfficient time management and organisational skills.
Experience in delivering fire risk management consultancy services to a range of clients in a variety of project sectors in the UK market.
Experience in assessing external wall systems including the materials, the construction, and their fire safety performanceDemonstrable examples of identifying and implementing innovative solutions in fire risk management in a consultancy environment.
Experience in Scottish Fire Legislation is advantageous but not essential
