We're seeking Engineers with the experience of working with automated material handling systems to join our dedicated Automation team.


An excellent opportunity to join our impressive state of the art 2.5m square foot Distribution Centre in Shirebrook, that's over 30 Football pitches, and is one of the most advanced warehouses within the UK during a period of exciting elevation.

Job Description


You will provide site-based engineering support to minimise downtime and ensure uptime, and availability of the installed automated equipment on site.

Through a professional engineering approach and a commitment to service quality, you'll support the shift Team by utilising a broad range of skills taking a proactive approach to improving performance and reliability.

You will directly report to the Shift Automation Manager, while being also mentored by the Senior Engineer. You will be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (rotation of days/nights)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


nCarry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.nCarry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment including, tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles and robotics.nFault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.nRespond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring minimal downtime.nPrioritise system faults and optimise uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.nComplete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.nComply with health and safety legislation as priority focusnParticipate in the delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of upgrades and enhancements.nEnsure optimum levels of onsite spare parts are maintained.nSupport site meetings as required.nMentor, train and advise junior members of the team.

Qualifications


Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline (multiskilled preferable)nExperience of working with automated material handling systemsnAbility to work at height.

nCapable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawingsnProven competence in H&SnExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsnStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsnBasic understanding of control systems and techniquesnAbility to work in a time critical environmentnEffective time and workload management skillsnPC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
