We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Frasers Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing site-based engineering support to minimize downtime and ensure uptime and availability of the installed automated equipment on site.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with our shift team to utilize a broad range of skills, taking a proactive approach to improving performance and reliability. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment, as well as responding to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment, including tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and robotics.
  • Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
  • Prioritize system faults and optimize uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
  • Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation as a priority focus.
  • Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
  • Ensure optimum levels of onsite spare parts are maintained.
  • Support site meetings as required.
  • Mentor, train, and advise junior members of the team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized engineering apprenticeship, ONC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience of working with automated material handling systems.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Capable of understanding mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Proven competence in H&S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a time-critical environment.
  • Effective time and workload management skills.
  • PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
