What you'lldo

As an InfrastructureEngineer, you’ll be engineering technical infrastructures fordepartmental applications and services. You'll support the widerdepartment by designing, implementing and supporting the adoptionof change in the way we engineer our offerings (e.g. promotingself-service, straight-through processing and the use of modernengineering practices).

You’llalso be:

  • Analysingrequirements and shaping the delivery of change to our products andworking practices to meet userexpectations
  • Understanding our over-archingstrategy and devising solutions and roadmaps to move us towards ourvision
  • Releasing solutions and ways of workingto teams in the department to improve the engineeringprocess
  • Showcasing, promoting and supportingother in the department in the adoption of new ways ofworking
  • Reviewing deployment documentation forall departmental infrastructure components from application anddevelopment

Theskills you'll need

To succeedin this role, you’ll need a clear understanding of how yourparticular area of expertise supports our customers, ranging fromapplications and services supported and developed to decisionstaken, and risk based with the objective of producing highavailability, low costsystems.

You’ll alsodemonstrate:

  • Experienceusing technologies such as Gitlab, Python, Terraform andAWS
  • A clear understanding of infrastructurelayers or stack, with a broad knowledge across multiple platforms,such as mainframe, middleware, network or deeperspecialism
  • An understanding of the roadmap ofyour area of expertise
  • The ability to work withdesign authorities to deploy cost effective and resilientsolutions
  • Experience of contributing toroadmaps and strategies, and working closely with third parties,assuring output and managingperformance
