We are excited to be recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Operational Event Manager to join our event team at London’s famous Southbank Centre - the largest arts centre in Europe.

You will be responsible for delivery of all on-the-day operational aspects of our events on site, taking all the planning and preparation that’s gone into an event and bringing it to life.
The event team report to our Head of Events, and you would be expected to work closely with the rest of the Event Managers, the Head Event Chef, Event Supervisors, and of course with any Team Members working on each event.

Key responsibilities  
  • Confidently work with our event planning team to deliver the events they’ve crafted. We go the extra mile to hand tailor our offer to create memorable experiences, and effective communication is what brings them to life.
  • Have a good understanding of function sheets and floor plans, with the ability to pick up a well-made plan and see it through from a smooth set-up to perfect pack down.
  • Efficiently and professionally organise and motivate a team to deliver genuine hospitality, with an attention to detail that impresses our clients.
  • Work closely with the in-house logistics team to ensure the safe and sensible movement and preparation of any stock and equipment needed, and track stock consumption for each event.
  • Ensuring that all food and drink displays hit the mark, working closely with the chef team so that food service is carried out efficiently and to the highest of standards.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and adjustable, with the ability to be the expert of cool even when the plans around us change. Communicate effectively with both the client and the Southbank team to find quick resolutions.
  • Ensure that all the Southbank Centres rules are followed closely and working to nurture the relationships that we have built with the venue’s internal teams.
  • Adhere to all company and site H&S, Food Safety, Fire Safety and Licensing procedures and ensuring that any sign-off sheets and time sheets are correctly completed for any agency staff.
