About the role as Accounts Assistant at Aira

We are excited to be recruiting an Accounts Assistant at Aira to support us in our period of high growth at Europe's most ambitious heating company. The position is primarily responsible for overseeing and maintaining all purchase ledger processing, completion of reconciliations for supplier ledgers and processing staff expenses, but the candidate will be encouraged to seek opportunities for personal growth through active involvement in the wider finance function.

The role is hybrid, giving you the flexibility to work between your home and our fantastic UK HQ in Kings Cross, London. You'll need to be in the office at least 2 days per week, and the working hours as Accounts Assistant at Aira are 9 - 5.30.

You'll need to have experience working in a similar role at an SME, with professional accounting qualifications an advantage for this position and your future progression with Aira.

Attention to detail and a can-do attitude are essential You'll need to roll your sleeves up to support the business operation, always demonstrating excellent communication skills and a high level of accuracy.

You'll need to be proficient with Microsoft Office, including word, excel, and outlook. Experience with accounting software will be beneficial for the role, and you'll need need a willingness to become an expert with Aira's systems, platforms and process as required for the role.

What you will be doing as Accounts Assistant at Aira

Review and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and correct coding. Coordinate and execute payment run, ensuring suppliers are paid on time while managing cash flow effectively. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounts payable processes, reducing errors and increasing efficiency. Maintain accurate and organised records of all financial transactions related to the purchase ledger. Perform regular reconciliations of supplier statements to ensure accounts are up to date and in good standing. Monitor and control expenses within the accounts payable function, identifying cost-saving opportunities. Generate reports on accounts payable activities, aging reports, and cash flow projections for management. Review and perform submissions under the Construction Industry Scheme. Assist in the assessment of on-boarding suppliers under IR35 rules. Run ad hoc projects connected to, but not necessarily directed related to, the purchase ledger function.
