What you'll do

As the Head of Programme Assurance at Sainsbury's Bank, you will take the lead in engaging with the Assurance workstream and the respective Pillars / Workstreams involved in the Transformation Programme. Your responsibility will be to provide continuous oversight, conduct business readiness assessments, and assess risks against key deliverables. You will maintain a collaborative and pragmatic relationship with the overall Transformation Programme, ensuring the quality and completeness of deliverables throughout the lifecycle and enabling timely, risk-based decisions. Partnering with stakeholders, you will provide ongoing risk oversight, identify and manage execution risks, and ensure that delivery aligns with the agreed Change control framework. Your role will also involve defining a risk-based Assurance plan, conducting thematic assurance activities, sharing findings, and agreeing on prioritisation and timelines for actions. As part of this role, you will facilitate third-party assurance activities, accurately report risk profiles through governance forums, and escalate critical issues as necessary.

Who you are

As the Head of Programme Assurance for Sainsbury's Bank, you are an experienced professional with a strong skill set in risk and assurance, coupled with a background in transformation and change delivery in large-scale projects and programmes. You have a proven track record in stakeholder management and engaging with various workstreams to ensure continuous oversight, business readiness, and risk assessments against key deliverables. With your pragmatic approach and collaborative mindset, you maintain a strong relationship between Assurance and the overall Transformation Programme, ensuring the quality and completeness of key deliverables throughout the lifecycle. Your expertise in risk oversight enables you to identify and manage execution risks, providing outcome-focused risk assessments to support informed decision-making. You are responsible for defining a risk-based Assurance plan, conducting thematic assurance activities, and facilitating the involvement of third-party specialists to deliver timely and impactful assurance. Additionally, you ensure accurate reporting of risk profiles and actively contribute to the governance framework of the organisation.
