**JOB OVERVIEW**

We are now seeking to appoint a Programme Leader to support the College’s Master in Chiropractic (MChiro) programme and to provide leadership and support to Module Leaders contributing to the non-clinical elements of the MChiro programme. This will include but not limited to:

- line management of non-clinical Module Leaders, including annual appraisal and oversight of staff development.
- working on curriculum development in conjunction with the Principal and Director of Clinical Studies

Programme leadership also comprises managing the operation of the programme on a day-to-day basis as follows:
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Teaching**:Teach modules as required within the programme and undertake dissertation supervision including marking
- **Student Support**:

- Managing Learning Support plans for students with learning difficulties or disabilities

Managing all types of attendance for all students ensuring absence is managed for non-clinical modules only.

Managing all student requests to defer or interrupt studies.
- Monitoring Academic Integrity support/guidance for staff ‘identifiers’ of cases of academic misconduct.
- Being first point of contact for students for Fitness to Study, Academic Appeals, informal complaints and student disciplinary concerns
- **Programme Documentation**: Preparation and annual review of Programme Handbook; oversight and sign off of Module Schemes and BNU Module descriptors; annual review of Quality and Teaching Policies.
- **Assessment**:in accordance with the College’s Assessment Strategy and Marking and Moderation Policy, ensure that all aspects of the assessment process for non-clinical modules are managed, including the preparation of Assignment Briefs and the student assessment calendar
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Ensuring robust systems are in place for student and staff feedback
- Providing induction of Student Representatives
- Preparation of annual programme monitoring reports to BNU and GCC and liaison with External Examiners for the MChiro programme;
- Providing leadership, in conjunction with the Principal and Director of Clinical Studies for periodic (5-year) programme review with BNU and professional re-accreditation with GCC
- Acting as point of contact for relevant academic matters with BNU and GCC
- Developing and maintaining a knowledge of the requirements of external quality assurance agencies and of national policies which may impact on the College’s quality arrangements
- **Governance/Committee Membership**:

- Chair of Programme Committee; Member of Academic Board; involvement with other committees and working groups, where relevant or when requested
- To be conversant with the following College policies: Safeguarding & Prevent; Equality, Diversity & Inclusion; Data Protection & GDPR; Freedom of Information; Secure Handling, Use, Storage, Retention & Destruction of Disclosure Information; Disclosure of Criminal Convictions; Health & Safety

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

2. Experience in the development and delivery of high-quality teaching and assessment in higher education that contributes to providing a world-class learning environment and enables students to achieve their potential. A postgraduate qualification in teaching and learning in higher education or equivalent qualification (whether completed or in progress) would be desirable.

3. Knowledge of the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning in HE.

4. A good working knowledge of current and emerging HE context, policy and practice.

5. A demonstrable commitment to student learning, diversity and inclusion and working in partnership with students to improve the student experience of learning and teaching.

6. A track record in research and publication, evidencing this through a continuing personal research plan that supports and enhances the College’s Research Strategy.

**COLLABORATION**

1. Engage effectively with other academic institutions etc., regionally, and nationally to raise awareness and development of the College’s profile, cultivate strategically valuable alliances, and to pursue opportunities for collaboration across a range of activities. These activities are expected to contribute to the SCC and the enhancement of its regional, national and international profile.

2. Participate in departmental administration and activities to promote the SCC and its work to the wider UK Chiropractic Community and the outside world.

3. Undertake other relevant duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be assigned by your line manager.
