Full Job Description

Aramark UK is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join the fantastic team at one of our fabulous education sites; Uppingham School, Rutland.

This is an exciting, permanent & full-time opportunity reporting to the Head Chef & Group Executive Chef on site. The role will assume responsibility for all food production across breakfast, lunch & dinner service from one main kitchen You will also support with any planned ad hoc hospitality requirements throughout the year.

Uppingham – Uppingham School is an Independent School that has numerous locations throughout the town. There are fifteen boarding houses in total & two Hub kitchens across the site, some houses have in house Chef’s. Hub Kitchen’s prepare food for six houses & it is then delivered to various houses. The required role would be based in the HUB Kitchen’s.

A day in the life of a Commis Chef:

Preparing & cooking meals for pupils Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner in either a small hub kitchen or a boarding house kitchen. Supporting with food orders Check all food is compliant with Allergens and Natasha’s law. Following recipe cards to prepare, cook and serve a range of meals Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence Assisting with deliveries & stock checks Placing food orders & maintaining kitchen records Checking, probing and signing of all food deliveries To monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets and serveries. Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans Full knowledge of all menu items served

You'll be set up for success if you have:

Experience operating as a Commis Chef or above Organised with a hands-on ability and strong work ethic Passion for people and food  A full UK driving licence
