Job Description SummaryWe are recruiting for a Senior Program Manager to join our busy Civil Portfolio Program Team on a 15 month maternity contract. In this exciting role you will be responsible for the execution and delivery of our 777x Electrical Load Management System (ELMS) Product.

Reporting to the Civil Portfolio Lead the Senior Program Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives through full product lifecycle (GE TG01-TG12).

In this role you will manage the development and delivery of an NPI program into production considering the full lifecycle of the product; accountable for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrating and developing processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

  • Responsible for the remaining management of the NPI development programme, supporting the EIS profile.
  • Programme Management of an obsolescence re-spin NPI development program.
  • Programme Management of the NPI, development programme for the next phase of the product line.
  • Commercial, execution and delivery support to legacy ELMS programmes.
  • People Manager for the two Customer Programme Leaders.
  • Leads the team to execute to the requirements of the programme schedule and contract; working with all functions to ensure successful execution and compliance of all contractual elements.
  • Responsible for delivery of the financial business case and cost baseline; drives actions to achieve program deliverables and business & financial targets throughout the programme lifecycle. Working closely with the EPM to ensure the programmes meets its financial commits.
  • Drives effective and efficient communication to the stakeholders including internal and external customer. Builds relationships both internally and externally across GE Sites, and integrates the voice of the customer into program /project activities
  • Leads compliance execution and accountability of teams throughout the lifecycle to ensure objectives are attained.  Drives team to identify, assess, and respond to issues throughout the lifecycle. Manages critical path and realigns priorities to balance stakeholdersâ requirements.
  • Supports the EPM to determine required resources to execute the program successfully.
  • Works with resource owners to ensure effective allocation and utilization to deliver on the contract and meet or exceed financial objectives.
  • Leads team to identify, assess, and respond to risks and opportunities across the lifecycle.
  • Develops and executes a strategy to enhance the predictability of the business plan.
  • Leads team to define product and service requirements and works with sourcing team to negotiate supplier contracts that meet cost, quality, schedule, and strategic objectives.
  • Must be able to present confidently to a range of technical and business forums â up to senior executive level, also manage effectively difficult conversations where required

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience to manage significant delivery commitments to critical customers ideally in an aviation equipment environment
  • Proven ability to manage significant customer relationships, expectations and the necessary contractual requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Strong program management ability
  • Strong business/commercial acumen
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Passion for customer satisfaction

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience of Hoshen Kanri (H-K) and Lean problem-solving techniques
  • People and team leadership experience
  • PMI accreditation (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of high-integrity aircraft system
  • Ability to influence at a wide variety of levels across the business
  • Experience at working with international customer base.
  • Experience of international trade control requirements in a highly regulated sector.
