The Role 💼

We have an opportunity for a Stakeholder Engagement Lead to join our RAPID team at Ofwat RAPID is the Regulators' Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development, bringing together expertise from Ofwat, the Environment Agency and the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

RAPID is at an exciting stage of its development. It was supporting a portfolio of 18 major infrastructure projects with a potential investment value of around £17bn during Price Review 19. Collectively these would meet the water needs of around 6 million people. And plans to further expand the number of RAPID projects over the next five years were recently announced in the Ofwat Price Review 24 draft determinations.

These projects are strategically important to long term water security. Increasingly RAPID is also being drawn into broader debates on how to best address issues such as improving water efficiency and responding to climate change. We are now entering a new phase, which will see the RAPID projects interacting with a wider group of stakeholders, both nationally and locally, upon whose support will be required to ensure they are delivered on time. You will be leading on critical work, working across the water sector, to ensure RAPID builds and maintains strong and purposeful relationships.

You will be given opportunities to work with senior leaders across RAPID and Ofwat – and to build important relationships right across the sector.

About You 🔍

✔️Experience in developing and delivering best practice stakeholder engagement programmes to support corporate priorities.

✔️Experience of gathering and sharing insight to inform strategic engagement planning.

✔️The ability to set direction and coordinate with others internally to deliver stakeholder engagement programmes at pace.

✔️Experience in building strong relationships with external stakeholders and using them to deliver organisational outcomes.

✔️Experience in measurement and evaluation; setting objectives and using learnings to adapt stakeholder engagement approaches.

✔️Experience in championing new ideas and innovation to improve outcomes.
