Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent staff benefits.
Hours: Full-time, 37.Weekend and evening working is required as per the Academy schedule.
Heart of Midlothian is a Scottish Premiership Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. The Performance School Program, based at Balerno Community High School offers several of our Academy players the opportunity to combine their studies and football education. The Club has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead the Balerno Performance School program.
The role holder will be responsible for managing and coordinating the effective delivery of the football and academic education program to Academy players enrolled in the school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced coach who has previous experience working within an Elite Football Academy and is passionate about individual player development and education.
Develop and deliver a football curriculum to support the individual development of players at all age groups and stages within the Balerno Performance School program.
Promote the holistic development of young players and people within the program and the integration of all players into the wider school.
Promote a high-performance culture within the program, promoting the values of the program and holding players accountable to the Club Player Code of Conduct.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with academy players, staff, parents, and teachers at Balerno Performance School.
Organise and support daily transportation of academy players between Balerno Performance School and the Academy as required.
Elite UEFA Youth Licence (or working towards).
Previous experience of working within an Elite Football Academy and creating Individual Development Plans.
Legal right to work in the UK.
Valid UK driving licence.
Scottish FA Advanced Children’s Licence and or UEFA A Licence (Desirable).
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
A strong work ethic with a passion for developing young people.
Confident IT user with basic computer skills, particularly relating to Microsoft Word and Excel.
The role will have regular contact with children, and it is therefore required by law to have a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check through Disclosure Scotland as a condition of employment.
