DSP Software Engineer

European Tech Recruit are working closely with a multinational semicon company, based in Edinburgh, who are looking for a DSP Software Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities as DSP Software Engineer :

  • Design, development, integration, evaluation and verification of DSP audio filters and algorithms.
  • Design, development, integration, and verification of DSP embedded solutions.
  • High-quality design and code delivered within agreed timescales.
  • High-quality tests delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Customer acceptance of Renesas solutions with proven and measurable compliance to specifications.
  • Ability to drive, regulate, and prioritize activities to ensure timescales and goals are met.
  • High-quality technical documentation is complete and maintained.
  • Reduction in code maintenance.
  • Increase in code reuse.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of DSP, MCU, IC, and audio codec architectures.
  • Experience with embedded architectures and real-time embedded software.
  • Knowledge of embedded C/C++ programming with knowledge of DSP algorithm development.
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Good competency in Python and/or MATLAB.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of fixed-point implementation.
  • Good knowledge of software development workflows and working methodologies
  • Clearly report bugs using issue-tracking tools such as JIRA.

Things that will make you stand out:

  • Good knowledge and experience in audio, digital filtering, and portable audio applications such as headphones and wireless earbuds.
  • Good experience in optimizing DSP solutions for low footprint, low latency, and low power applications.
  • Familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience using SystemC.
