Renesas Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Principal DSP Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge audio solutions.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, integrating, evaluating, and verifying sophisticated DSP audio filters and algorithms. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of audio technology across various applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Spearhead the design and development of innovative DSP audio filters and algorithms, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Embedded Solutions Expertise: Contribute to the design, development, and verification of robust embedded solutions for our diverse product portfolio.
  • Quality Assurance: Deliver high-quality code and comprehensive test suites within established timeframes, adhering to rigorous quality standards.
  • Customer Focus: Collaborate closely with customers to ensure that Renesas solutions meet their specific requirements and exceed expectations.
  • Project Management: Effectively manage your workload, prioritize tasks, and drive projects forward to successful completion.
  • Technical Documentation: Create clear, concise, and up-to-date technical documentation for all developed solutions.
Qualifications:

We are seeking a talented individual with a strong foundation in DSP principles and embedded software development.

  • Essential Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of DSP, MCU, IC, and audio codec architectures.
    • Proficiency in real-time embedded C/C++ programming with a focus on DSP algorithm development.
    • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
    • Familiarity with Python and/or MATLAB for algorithm prototyping and analysis.
    • Strong understanding of fixed-point implementation techniques.
    • Experience with software development workflows and methodologies.
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing.
  • Desirable Skills:
    • Experience in audio, digital filtering, and portable audio applications (e.g., headphones, wireless earbuds).
    • Expertise in optimizing DSP solutions for low footprint, low latency, and low power consumption.
    • Previous experience in team leadership or technical mentorship roles.
    • Familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins.
    • Experience using SystemC for hardware/software co-design.
