We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales and Accounts Assistant to join our growing business development team, with the primary goals of supporting our sales efforts and expanding our subscriber base.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced sales and business development environment.

Job Overview:

As a Sales and Accounts Assistant, you will be a key member of our team, providing essential support to our sales and business development efforts, while handling other tasks related to filing company accounts.

Your role is critical in maintaining the smooth operation of the Carbon Pulse sales department, ensuring efficient processes, and contributing to achieving our targets for subscription and advertising sales.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sales support

  • Assist with new subscription sales and renewals, preparing price quotes and invoices
  • Compile and convert existing leads into subscription sales
  • Research and target new subscribers
  • Maintain and update subscriber and advertiser CRM databases
  • Analyse subscription sales figures, and ensure accuracy and integrity of data
  • Generate and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports
  • Assist with and spearhead other business development initiatives
  • Provide customer service including handling subscriber inquiries
  • Coordinate with subscribers to schedule meetings or calls if required

Accounts support

  • Help prepare and maintain company accounts
  • Record payments

Other responsibilities

  • Post and manage job listings
  • Coordinate online and newsletter advertising schedule
  • Some editorial duties
  • Help record staff performance metrics
  • Assist with conference planning
  • Liaise between sales department and other departments including editorial and IT

Requirements

MUST HAVE

  • Experience in business and/or administrative roles
  • Sales experience
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and as part of a small team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Flexibility with regards to working hours
  • A positive attitude and a team player

NICE TO HAVE

  • A university degree in business or a related field
  • Experience in accounting and/or accounting software
  • Experience with CRM applications
  • Experience in news or subscription sales
  • A passion for environmental issues

Remuneration and Benefits: Base salary commensurate with experience. Includes sales commission, discretionary annual bonus, pension auto-enrolment, and 25 days holiday per year (pro-ratable).
