Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to manage the FP&A Finance team (3x Direct Reports), partner with the Commercial & Procurement Director and help to drive revenue and profitability growth across the business. You will provide insight into the Commercial performance of the business and work closely with our Operations Finance team to help to drive end to end decision making across all the relevant business functions.


In addition, you and your team own the financial reporting for the business including month end reporting, overhead control and analysis, annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the Commercial & Procurement Director and the Heads of Department.
  • Earn trust of your business partners, primarily Commercial, Procurement and Group Finance to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions driving business improvements and cost reductions.
  • Willingness to challenge the Senior Leadership Team to help shape the direction of the company.
  • Provision of weekly reporting, trend & variance analysis and commentary with recommendations.
  • Developing further insightful and accurate Commercial analysis & reporting that helps to optimise decision making including development of KPI dashboards.
  • Working alongside the Operational & Group Finance Teams to ensure end to end decision making and develop standardised approaches to our processes.
  • Creation of robust systems and processes to drive financial controllership.
  • Ownership of the Annual Budgeting and Quarterly Reforecasting processes within the team.
  • Ownership of month end reporting & controls across the UK finance team
  • Support and optimise the business processes around new and existing business tenders
  • Work alongside Operations Finance Manager and Procurement to develop and maintain an accurate set of standards.
  • Support impending ERP rollout.


Skills and experiences:

  • Proven track record of business partnering within a Manufacturing environment preferable but not essential.
  • Experience analysing and explaining financial figures to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills including interpreting financial information for non-financial managers.
  • Confident liaising and influencing our key stakeholders but equally the front-line leaders and operators on site.
  • Experience in implementation and maintenance of controllership around financial processes.
  • Strong IT ability and data modelling, mining & evaluation (Microsoft D365 desirable).
  • Strong Excel skills.
