Release Coordinator

Job Overview:
Aligned to the Service Management Team, working alongside our capability, project, development, platform, and operations team to build and facilitate a comprehensive, optimum and transparent release schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the release schedule, ensuring that all IT collaborators are aligned.
- Coordinate with development, testing and operations teams to define release requirements and timelines and to continuously improve the release process.
- Construct and maintain a transparent view of release schedule and communicate the release plan and status updates to senior management and relevant teams.
- Ensure successful deployment to production environments, handling risks and resolving issues that arise during release activities.
- Coordinate release efforts across delivery and operational IT streams to meet enterprise-level release schedules.
- Identify potential risks related to software releases and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. Ensure rollback strategies are in place in case of release failures or unforeseen issues.
- Analyse post-release metrics to find opportunities for process improvements and to address any recurring issues and conduct post-release reviews to collect lessons learned and ensure accountability.
- Ensure that release processes align with internal standards, industry regulations, and IT governance frameworks.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Jenkins, Git, ServiceNow or similar.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills to balance multiple releases simultaneously and manage resources, timelines and risks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate between different teams and departments leading teams through release cycles, including handling crises during deployments.
- Analytical approach with the ability to solve issues quickly and efficiently, remaining calm under pressure, adapting to changing priorities.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT delivery, project management, or a related field
- Experience managing software release processes in Agile or DevOps environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Scrum Master, or similar) are a plus
