We are looking for a proactive and high performing Accounts Assistant to join the finance team and support with the day-to-day finance operations.

The Role

You will be hands on and responsible for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for Sectorlight & the sister agency alan, whilst also supporting the Group Finance Manager and Finance Director with Management Accounting.

You will assist with administration tasks and be on hand to answer any queries raised by staff, external clients or providers. You will be expected to help implement the businesses financial policies wherever necessary, ensuring that all staff are aware of and following the appropriate ways of working.

You will be expected to demonstrate your attention to detail and have excellent communication skills to deal with high profile brands. You will need to show enthusiasm, confidence, and tact in dealing with both senior business and finance stakeholders.


Responsibilities

● Ensure client and supplier invoices are processed and accurately dealt with on a timely basis

● Perform daily cash & banking reconciliation

● Posting journals

● Weekly Timesheet Analysis

● Ensure supplier payments are made accurately and with appropriate authorisation

● Process expense claims for staff on a timely basis

● Promptly answer and resolve queries from clients, suppliers, and internal departments

● Manage credit control for all debtors and escalate issues as and when required

● Assist in preparation the monthly consolidated accounts including Profit & Loss, Gross Profit and Balance Sheet

● Providing commentary on monthly financial performance and variances to the Group Finance Manager

● Assisting with annual audit

● Support the wider team with ad hoc duties and project work


Skills required

● Previous experience in a book-keeping or accounting role desirable and/or a similar environment is preferred

● Excellent spoken and written English

● Excellent organisational skills and ability to efficiently multi-task

● A good working knowledge of MS Office packages, in particular Excel

● Enthusiastic, dependable, and quick learner
