The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the organisation's procurement and supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and sustainability goals.
Job Title: Head of Strategic Procurement
Location: Plymouth, Devon (Hybrid, up to 3 days onsite)
Salary: £71,026 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the organisation's Supply Chain Strategy, ensuring compliance with UK procurement regulations and a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.
- Oversee supplier engagement, contract management, and governance to ensure cost efficiency and compliance across all procurement activities.
- Lead strategic negotiations on high-value and high-risk contracts, ensuring value for money while aligning with organisational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and stakeholders, to enhance procurement processes and align with the business plan.
- Provide leadership to the procurement team, ensuring continuous development, training, and mentor ship. Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MCIPS qualification or MSc in Supply Chain Management (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience managing procurement in both the public and private sectors, with a strong background in contract law, category management, and supply chain management.
- Proven track record in leading procurement strategies, negotiating major contracts, and delivering business objectives.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams and drive innovation in procurement practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience in executive reporting.
