We are seeking a talented Strategic FMCG Procurement Specialist to join our team at The Range. As a key member of our buying department, you will play a crucial role in maximizing sales, margin, and profitability in our fast-moving FMCG category.


Working closely with our Head of Buying, you will be responsible for developing relationships with suppliers to deliver a successful product offer. Your primary goal will be to lead a team in building long-term supplier relationships, ensuring maximum value and efficiency for the business.


You will have ultimate responsibility for implementing the product strategy and ensuring that the business meets customer needs. Additionally, you will monitor and review competitor information to ensure our product offering stays relevant in a changing market.


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Maximizing sales, margin, and profitability in the FMCG category
  • Leading a team in building long-term supplier relationships
  • Implementing the product strategy and ensuring customer needs are met
  • Monitoring and reviewing competitor information
  • Playing a lead role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions, and pricing
  • Working with the cross-functional team to ensure great product availability and quality

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience of buying, FMCG experience, and excellent understanding of the consumer and the marketplace. You will also need to have the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with first-rate strategic and analytical thinking skills.


We offer a competitive salary, pension, long service awards, employee discount, and cycle to work scheme. This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 08:45 am to 17:30 pm, in Plymouth, Devon.
