Director Trade & Working Capital Product Manager

London

What will you be doing


Our approach to Product Management centres on how we create, manage and change products, while proactively engaging with clients to ensure our products address their needs and respond to market conditions.

Key accountabilities are:


• End to End product lifecycle responsibilities for Trade Loans which include Vanilla Trade Loans, Export Credit Agency backed Trade Loans, Bank to Bank Trade Loans and Bills & Promissory Notes Discounting in line with the Corporate Bank Product Lifecycle Framework.

• Lead and develop the TWC Syndication and Risk Mitigation capability further, with greater syndications capability, unfunded and funded risk participation, expanded insurance backed risk mitigation capabilities.

• Ensure syndication and risk mitigation operating models are seamlessly embedded in the front to back processes.

• Ensure relevant controls are in place and operate effectively

• Develop syndication and risk mitigation strategies to improve the efficiency of balance sheet and credit limits and improve returns

• Manage the supplier relationship with relevant risk mitigation providers where appropriate

• Monitor capital and credit limits consumption across the TWC product portfolio, identify opportunities for optimisation and develop plans to realise the benefits.

• Represent TWC in strategic transformation projects relating to capital permissions and provide strategic steer to ensure good outcomes for our customers, clients and the business, while complying with regulatory obligations.

• Define, establish and commercialise product strategy, demonstrating a sound understanding of the underlying business principles and theories underpinning the product disciplines. Actively scan the external environment to identify any risks and opportunities to your product line.

• Combine client insight with an understanding of the financial, risk and operational underpinnings of the product to drive propositions that solve client problems in a profitable way.

• Own the end-to-end client journey. Ensure that the core processes that support the product are robust and deliver the right outcome for our clients. Integrate with the relevant functions in order to achieve this.

• Accountable for periodic Product Reviews, New Product Development, Risk & Control oversight and regulatory compliance of all products managed, adherence to operating model and ownership and deep understanding of regulatory impacts.

• An experienced leader who is execution-driven with a track record of delivery.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to be able to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business

• Excellent communication skills, including interactive listening in order to negotiate with others across all levels of the organization and externally.

• Ability to negotiate with a high level of discretion, both internally and externally.

• Good understanding of the capital framework and principles

• Good understanding of risk mitigation techniques

• Experience of working in a strong regulatory environment with attention to the detail


Skills that will help you in your role


• Experience of product ownership in a financial services organisation

• Experience of delivering capital optimisation projects

• Experience of seeking acceptance and implementation of new risk mitigation techniques

• Good working knowledge of Trade and Working Capital Finance products

• Working knowledge of the full range of business disciplines e.g. Compliance, Operations, Service, Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance, HR, and Risk

• Experience of directing Product Management functions and taking ownership and accountability for the business

• Broad understanding of product lifecycle discipline
