Job Summary: The Head of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales & marketing strategies to achieve company goals. This role requires a results-driven leader with a proven track record in sales management within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional sales acumen, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed company sales targets and objectives.


  • Monitor quality across department and apply root cause analysis to improve and develop standards. Complaint handling, trending and reporting.


  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales teams, providing training and support to enhance performance and development and achieve individual and team goals.


  • Regular team meetings and huddles to maintain communication across the department and organisation.


  • Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through networking, industry events, and market research.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, brokers, and partners to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.


  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management team.


  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that support sales initiatives.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and stay ahead in the industry.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion of leads and carry out detailed lost lead analysis.


  • Conduct regular sales team meetings and performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.


  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring terms are favourable for both the client and the company.

  • Manage the sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.


  • Ability to identify capacity constraints and flex available resources accordingly.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA or other relevant professional qualifications is a plus or a minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably within the insurance industry.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


  • In-depth understanding of the commercial insurance market and industry trends.


  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ideally experienced in Acturis but not essential

  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
