Are you looking for an opportunity to work with children, young people and their families in the community, as part of a new team delivering high quality care, to children aged from 0-19yrs, in line with the Healthy Child Programme?
We have two 24 hours term time only posts in the West Locality (Witney, Carterton, Eynsham and surrounding areas) where you will be able to develop your skills and knowledge to work alongside experienced practitioners in a variety of settings, including primary and secondary schools, health centres and the client’s home. The role will include working with school aged children, providing public health related care to support in areas such as safeguarding, emotional health, sexual health and physical health, alongside supporting schools to deliver personal, health and social education, and managing medical conditions in schools. We are able to offer this part time, term time role, with a complete training package and a preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job
Within the caseload, and as delegated by the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse the post holder will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of the 0-19 service.
You will be based within the locality and will work with the 0-19 teams in that locality and supporting locality wide work where needed for school aged children and young people. The role involves working in partnership with children, young people, families, primary care, schools and statutory and voluntary services and other partner agencies to facilitate health-enhancing activities and improve health outcomes.
You will deliver services to children and families within schools and community settings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The role includes undertaking Healthy Child Programme transitional assessments and planning, delivering and evaluating public health initiatives through school and community-based health promotion activities.
The role will require you to adhere to Safeguarding policies and actively engage under the supervision from a SCPHN in safeguarding processes and meetings.
You will work in partnership with other agencies and develop, participate and maintain interagency networks.
